We are committed to ensuring that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) becomes part of the fabric of the organisation. For Resources Credit Union, CSR goes beyond donating money or time for various causes. For us it is about providing resources and encouraging our communities to make positive differences.
This spirit of co-operation and the principle of mutuality are reflected in everything we do.
In keeping with this, Resources Credit Union is seeking to contribute to the sustainability of our communities, both by acting responsibly in the way it delivers services and through coordinated initiatives directed towards improving our communities.
Community Care Grants
Resources Credit Union is committed to a community investment program supporting initiatives which make a contribution to resolving economic, social and environmental problems.
Each year, around July/August, we will call for Community Care applications. Grants of up to $5,000 are on offer for projects, groups or individuals, to help make a positive, measurable and sustainable difference to our community. A Community Care Committee, made up of Directors and Management, consider the applications and announce the recipients.
Congratulations to the following organisations who received Grants in 2009:
- Child Abuse Prevention Service (Inner West Sydney)
$3,000 to produce child abuse prevention packs for local schools - Griffith Pre-School Kindergarten
$5,000 to improve outdoor play area to teach kids about the environment, sustainability and recycling - Grapevine Support Group (Leeton)
$2,000 to help separated and widowed individuals re-enter a social support network
Sponsorship
Sponsorships are another way we support local communities. We view sponsorships as long-term investments to enable our communities to instigate important social, educational, recreational, environmental and health initiatives.
Resources Credit Union recognizes that every request has individual merit, however as the funds come from our members, we need to ensure that sponsorship is in keeping with our values, and that funds are distributed fairly throughout our service regions. For this reason, we do give preference to groups which either have an existing association with Resources Credit Union or provide opportunities to form a new financial relationship.
Requests for sponsorship should be sent to:
Marketing & Member Services Manager
Units 9 & 10 Homebush Business Village
11 – 21 Underwood Road
Homebush NSW 2140
